Angel Aligners and In-House Aligners

Angel Aligners are clear, removable orthodontic aligners designed to gradually move teeth according to a treatment plan created and supervised by your orthodontist. At The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview, Dr. Wakas Abdulrazzaq, a board-certified orthodontist, uses Angel Aligners as one of several options for clear aligner treatment.

We also design and fabricate in-house clear aligners for selected, limited treatments, giving Dr. Wakas additional flexibility to match the treatment approach to each patient’s orthodontic needs.

Angel Aligners and In-House Aligners

Same principle as any aligner: a numbered series of clear plastic trays, each one slightly different, moving your teeth in small planned steps. You wear each tray one to two weeks, 20 to 22 hours a day, and swap to the next.

Two things distinguish the system in practice. The first is a built-in elastic anchor, called the Angel Button, which is molded into the aligner itself. Most systems require a small metal button to be bonded onto the tooth when elastics are needed, and those buttons come loose. The second is the planning software, iOrtho, which is what your orthodontist actually works in when mapping your case.

Angel also makes a version designed for children with mixed dentition and its own retainer line, so a case can stay inside one system from start to finish.

Angel Aligners Compared With Other Systems

There is no single clear aligner system that is best for every patient. Invisalign, Angel Aligners, and other aligner systems use similar fundamental principles to move teeth, but they differ in materials, staging protocols, attachment designs, software, and available treatment features. Those differences may make one system particularly useful for certain treatment goals.

Invisalign is the most widely recognized clear aligner system and has a long clinical history, extensive treatment-planning tools, and a broad range of features for treating both straightforward and complex orthodontic cases.

Angel Aligners offer a different set of materials and treatment protocols, including options designed to alternate aligner materials and incorporate features for certain bite corrections and orthodontic mechanics. They can be used for a wide range of cases, from relatively straightforward alignment to more complex treatment when appropriately planned and supervised.

For selected limited tooth movements, our in-house aligners provide another option that allows us to design and fabricate treatment directly within our practice.

Ultimately, the brand of aligner is only one part of successful treatment. The diagnosis, treatment plan, biomechanics, and orthodontist supervising your care matter at least as much as the name printed on the aligner package.

Because The Orthodontic Gallery offers multiple aligner options, Dr. Wakas can select the system based on your bite, the tooth movements required, your treatment goals, and the features that may benefit your particular case.

Aligners We Make Ourselves

For limited cases we design and print aligners in the practice. This is most often the right answer for minor relapse, where teeth have drifted a little in the years since braces came off and the fix is small and well defined.

The advantages are practical. Turnaround is days rather than weeks, and there is no manufacturer in the loop. If a tray needs remaking, we remake it here.

In-house aligners are not the right tool for complex cases, and we will not use them as a cheaper substitute where the case needs more. That distinction gets made at your consultation.

Angel Aligner Questions

Both Angel Aligner and Invisalign are advanced clear aligner systems capable of treating a wide range of orthodontic problems, from relatively straightforward alignment to selected complex cases. Neither system is automatically better for every patient.

Invisalign has a longer clinical history and an extensive body of published research. Angel Aligner offers its own materials, treatment protocols, and features that may be advantageous for certain types of tooth movement and bite correction.

Ultimately, the aligner brand is only one part of the treatment. The diagnosis, treatment plan, biomechanics, patient cooperation, and orthodontist supervising treatment all play important roles in the final result.

Because The Orthodontic Gallery offers both systems, Dr. Wakas can recommend Invisalign or Angel Aligner based on your individual bite and treatment goals rather than relying on a single aligner brand. We’ll explain the reasons behind that recommendation so you understand why a particular system was selected for you.

Angel Aligner is less widely known in the United States than Invisalign, so fewer orthodontic practices currently offer the system. If you relocate during treatment, finding another orthodontist who routinely works with Angel Aligner may therefore be more difficult.

Like all removable clear aligners, Angel Aligner also depends heavily on patient cooperation. Aligners generally need to be worn as prescribed for treatment to progress predictably.

Certain complex tooth movements and bite corrections can also be more challenging with clear aligners in general and may require attachments, elastics, additional aligners, other orthodontic mechanics, or braces to achieve the desired result.

Angel Aligner is not automatically the right choice for every patient—and neither is Invisalign. Dr. Wakas evaluates the specific tooth movements, bite, treatment goals, and complexity of each case before recommending an aligner system.

The cost of clear aligner treatment depends primarily on the complexity of your case and the anticipated length of treatment. After your orthodontic evaluation, we’ll provide a clear, written treatment fee so you know the cost before deciding to move forward.

At The Orthodontic Gallery, Dr. Wakas recommends the aligner system based on your diagnosis and treatment needs—not simply on price or brand.

We offer interest-free in-house payment plans and accept CareCredit, HSA, and FSA funds. If you have orthodontic insurance benefits, our team can also help you understand how they may apply toward treatment.

Yes. Angel Aligner can be used to treat many complex orthodontic cases, including treatment that requires attachments, elastics, bite correction, and more advanced tooth movements. The suitability of clear aligners depends less on whether a case is labeled “simple” or “complex” and more on the specific tooth movements and biomechanics required.

Some cases may be treated more predictably with braces,  or a combination of orthodontic techniques. After reviewing your examination, digital scan, photographs, and appropriate X-rays, Dr. Wakas will recommend the treatment approach best suited to your individual diagnosis and goals.
