Adults and children in Apollo Beach can see board-certified orthodontist Dr. Wakas Abdulrazzaq in Riverview, at 10061 Beach Verbena Drive, about 17 minutes away outside rush hour. We serve Apollo Beach from that office with clear aligners, braces, and expansion for adults, and the consultation costs nothing.
Families in Apollo Beach are about 17 minutes from our Riverview office, with evening and alternate-Saturday appointments.
Teeth straightened in childhood can drift once a retainer stops being worn. If the change is small, a short course of clear aligners fabricated in-house can sometimes correct it. A bigger change needs a full plan, and you will hear which of the two you are looking at before anything starts.
For adults who would rather treatment did not show at work, the discreet choices are clear aligners, including Invisalign and Angel Aligners, and clear ceramic braces.
If a dentist once told you that your upper jaw was too narrow and only surgery would widen it, that answer may have changed. Bone-anchored expansion is now an alternative for adults whose palate is suitable. See adult palatal expansion.
Adult mouths also come with history: crowns, implants, gum changes, earlier orthodontics. Planning around that history is a normal part of adult orthodontics, and Dr. Abdulrazzaq works with your dentist where it matters.
The story starts in 1923 on land owned by the Dickman family, used for farming and grazing and named Tampa Beach. In 1957 Francis Corr, a retired businessman from Michigan, bought it and renamed it La Vida Beach. Legend has it that in 1958 his wife, Dorothy, suggested Apollo Beach instead, for the area’s greatest asset: sunshine.
Today an estimated 55 miles of canals lead out to Tampa Bay, and boating and fishing go on all year. Big Bend Power Station marks the north edge of town, and the TECO Manatee Viewing Center is free to visit from November 1 to April 15. Apollo Beach Park & Recreation Center on Golf and Sea Boulevard is the county’s recreation and fitness center in town.
High school: East Bay High School, plus SLAM! Apollo Beach, a K-12 charter
Middle school: Eisenhower Middle School
Elementary and K-8: Apollo Beach Elementary, Inez Doby Elementary, Dorothy C. York Innovation Academy, and Waterset Charter School
Younger families are part of the picture too, and Waterset Charter School is a K-8 charter in Apollo Beach.
For younger children in Waterset or anywhere else in town, a first orthodontic check is free, and if nothing needs doing yet, that is what you will hear. See early treatment.

Allow about 17 minutes for the ten miles from the center of Apollo Beach, outside rush hour. Big Bend Road and I-75 lead to the Gibsonton Drive exit, and the office is east of that exit, just off US-301.
Evening and alternate-Saturday appointment times give a working adult options outside the usual nine-to-five.
Dr. Wakas Abdulrazzaq is a board-certified orthodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and the founder of The Orthodontic Gallery. He completed his orthodontic residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University, where he served as chief resident. As the practice’s only orthodontist, he plans and checks every visit himself, from first exam to retainers. He treats patients in English and Arabic, and a Spanish-speaking member of our team is available to help.
Traditional braces start at $500 down. Payment plans are in-house and carry no interest. We accept CareCredit and HSA and FSA funds. Your free consultation ends with a written treatment plan and the fee attached to it, and nothing is owed if you decide not to start. See cost and financing.
We do not quote prices over the phone, because a number without an examination behind it is not a real number. What we will do is give you the real one, in writing, at no cost.
Se habla español, and Dr. Abdulrazzaq speaks Arabic.
Nothing below is reserved for children. Age changes how a case is planned, and Dr. Abdulrazzaq will explain how it affects yours.
Braces move teeth with brackets bonded to each tooth and a wire that connects them. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview offers metal braces, clear ceramic braces, and LightForce custom 3D-printed brackets, for children, teens, and adults.
Clear aligners are removable plastic trays, changed every one to two weeks, that move teeth in small, planned steps. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview treats with Invisalign and Angel Aligners
A retainer holds your teeth in their new positions after braces or clear aligners come off. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview provides removable clear retainers, Hawley wire retainers, and permanent bonded retainers.
Early orthodontic treatment means fixing a problem while a child’s jaw is still growing. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends every child have an orthodontic evaluation by about age seven.
Braces for teens are the most common orthodontic treatment there is. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview treats teenagers with metal braces, clear ceramic braces, LightForce custom brackets, and clear aligners.
Roughly one in four orthodontic patients in the United States is an adult. Adults at The Orthodontic Gallery are treated with braces, clear aligners, expansion, and coordinated surgical planning where a case calls for it.
Yes. The practice has a single office, at 10061 Beach Verbena Drive in Riverview, and there is no Apollo Beach location. Directions are on our Riverview contact page.
Gum disease does not rule it out by itself. Gum and bone health come first: active gum disease is treated before any teeth move, in coordination with your dentist or a periodontist, a dentist who specializes in the gums.
Not on their own, but each one shapes the plan. An implant does not move, so treatment is arranged around where it sits. Crowns and bridges constrain the plan in other ways, and Dr. Abdulrazzaq works with your dentist where that matters.
Crowding means the teeth need more room than the arch gives them. A narrow upper jaw is a problem with the bone itself, and it often shows up as a crossbite, with the upper back teeth sitting inside the lower ones. In children, the seam down the middle of the upper jaw is still open, so widening it is straightforward. In adults the seam has fused, which is why widening used to mean surgery. MARPE can widen it without surgery when the palate is suitable.
