For FishHawk Ranch and Lithia, The Orthodontic Gallery offers a free consultation with board-certified orthodontist Dr. Wakas Abdulrazzaq, and it doubles as a second opinion if you already have a treatment plan. We serve both communities from our Riverview office at 10061 Beach Verbena Drive, about 20 minutes away outside rush hour.
If you already have a treatment plan and would like a second look, Dr. Wakas is happy to review it at a free consultation. If you are unsure, or the case looks more involved than routine braces, a second look from a specialist costs nothing here.
A treatment plan is a recommendation, and it is reasonable to test one before you sign up for a year or more of appointments.
An opinion is only as useful as the range of answers behind it. We offer metal and ceramic braces, LightForce custom brackets, and three aligner systems (Invisalign, Angel Aligners, and the in-house aligners we fabricate), so nothing pulls the recommendation toward one product.
Equipment does part of the work. A Medit i900 digital scanner records your teeth in 3D without impression putty, and when a case needs more detail, a cone beam 3D image shows the roots, the jaw bones, and the palate. If braces turn out to be the answer, LightForce brackets are designed for each tooth from that scan and then printed. More on our technology page.
Training does the rest. Dr. Abdulrazzaq’s residency was hospital-based, at MedStar Washington Hospital Center with Georgetown University. Part of each week was spent at Children’s National Hospital, working on cleft and craniofacial cases, complex jaw discrepancies, and patients with sensory or behavioral needs. When a case is not routine, that background is what you are asking for.
FishHawk takes its name from Little Fishhawk Creek, a tributary of the Alafia River. The land was ranch country before it was a community, and FishHawk Ranch went on to become Hillsborough County’s first certified green new-home community. Its common areas include Park Square Town Center and the Starling Club, with its family pool and playground, and the county-owned FishHawk Sports Complex hosts youth baseball and soccer.
Growth came quickly. The area went from under 2,000 people to 14,087 at the 2010 census, and the county opened several new schools to keep pace, Newsome High among them in 2003. The older community of Lithia lies to the east, and Alafia River State Park and Lithia Springs Park both carry Lithia addresses.
High school: Newsome High School
Middle school: Randall Middle School and Glenn Barrington Middle School
Elementary: FishHawk Creek Elementary, Dick Stowers Elementary, and Bevis Elementary
At the 2020 census, 34.6 percent of FishHawk residents were under 18, and 60.6 percent of households had children under 18.
Newsome High and Randall Middle both sit on Fishhawk Boulevard. For a student there weighing braces against clear aligners, both are on the table, and the choice comes down to the bite and to how reliably a teenager will wear removable trays. Our teen orthodontics page compares the two.
FishHawk Ranch, FishHawk Trails, Starling at FishHawk, The Preserve, and the older community of Lithia, all in ZIP 33547.
Call 813-867-0414 or request an appointment. Serving FishHawk Ranch and Lithia from our Riverview office at 10061 Beach Verbena Drive, Riverview, FL 33578.
The middle of FishHawk Ranch is about 20 minutes and a little over nine miles from the office outside rush hour, and Newsome High is about the same. Boyette Road leads west to US-301, and the office is just off 301.
A second opinion takes one trip. If you then start treatment here, evening and alternate-Saturday appointment times keep the drive out of the school day.
Dr. Wakas Abdulrazzaq is a board-certified orthodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and the founder of The Orthodontic Gallery. He completed his orthodontic residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University, where he served as chief resident. As the practice’s only orthodontist, he plans and checks every visit himself, from first exam to retainers. He treats patients in English and Arabic, and one of our team members speaks Spanish.
Traditional braces start at $500 down. Payment plans are in-house and carry no interest. We accept CareCredit and HSA and FSA funds. Your free consultation ends with a written treatment plan and the fee attached to it, and nothing is owed if you decide not to start. See cost and financing.
We do not quote prices over the phone, because a number without an examination behind it is not a real number. What we will do is give you the real one, in writing, at no cost.
These are the treatments a FishHawk or Lithia family can compare at our Riverview office. A second-opinion visit considers all of them, so one plan can be weighed against another on equal terms.
Braces move teeth with brackets bonded to each tooth and a wire that connects them. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview offers metal braces, clear ceramic braces, and LightForce custom 3D-printed brackets, for children, teens, and adults.
Clear aligners are removable plastic trays, changed every one to two weeks, that move teeth in small, planned steps. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview treats with Invisalign and Angel Aligners.
A retainer holds your teeth in their new positions after braces or clear aligners come off. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview provides removable clear retainers, Hawley wire retainers, and permanent bonded retainers.
Early orthodontic treatment means fixing a problem while a child’s jaw is still growing. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends every child have an orthodontic evaluation by about age seven.
Braces for teens are the most common orthodontic treatment there is. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview treats teenagers with metal braces, clear ceramic braces, LightForce custom brackets, and clear aligners.
Roughly one in four orthodontic patients in the United States is an adult. Adults at The Orthodontic Gallery are treated with braces, clear aligners, expansion, and coordinated surgical planning where a case calls for it.
Yes, at no charge. Bring the written plan and any X-rays or scans you were given. Dr. Abdulrazzaq examines you himself, takes any imaging the case needs, and then tells you plainly where he agrees with the plan and where he would do something different.
In Riverview, like every appointment at this practice. There is no FishHawk or Lithia location; the one office is at 10061 Beach Verbena Drive, and our office location page has directions.
No. It is information, and what you do with it is your decision. You can stay with your current orthodontist, or, if you would rather start with us, compare our written plan and fee with the one you have.
When the plan involves expansion in a teenager or adult whose growth is finishing, when extractions are proposed to make room, when earlier treatment did not hold, or when the timeline or fee surprised you. None of those mean the first plan is wrong. They are the decisions where a second look costs little compared with what is at stake.
