The Orthodontic Gallery has one office, in Riverview at 10061 Beach Verbena Drive, and serves Brandon from there. The center of Brandon is about 19 minutes away outside rush hour. Dr. Wakas Abdulrazzaq, a board-certified orthodontist, handles everything from a child’s first braces to adult jaw expansion. The consultation is free.
Whether your child needs a simple set of braces or more specialized care, Dr. Wakas plans every case himself. This page is for the family whose case is not straightforward.
If you are an adult with a narrow upper jaw and the advice so far has been surgery, ask about MARPE. It widens the upper jaw with small anchors placed in the palate, which makes it an alternative to the operation that used to be the standard answer. A cone beam scan, a 3D X-ray of the jaws, shows whether your palate is suited to it. See also adult palatal expansion and adult orthodontics.
A child born with a cleft lip or palate needs orthodontic care timed around surgery and growth. Dr. Abdulrazzaq trained in that work during his residency, rotating through Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC, every week. More on cleft and craniofacial care.
For a child with autism or sensory differences, a busy open treatment area can be the whole problem. We have private treatment rooms and nitrous oxide, and clear aligners can take the place of braces for patients who cannot manage fixed appliances. See special-needs orthodontics.
Families more at home in Arabic can hear the diagnosis and the treatment options from Dr. Abdulrazzaq in Arabic, directly, without an interpreter in between. See Arabic-speaking orthodontist.
Behind all of it is one orthodontist. The person who plans your treatment is the person who checks it, visit after visit.

Dr. Wakas Abdulrazzaq is a board-certified orthodontist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and the founder of The Orthodontic Gallery. He completed his orthodontic residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University, where he served as chief resident. As the practice’s only orthodontist, he plans and checks every visit himself, from first exam to retainers.Ā
Traditional braces start at $500 down. Payment plans are in-house and carry no interest. We accept CareCredit and HSA and FSA funds. Your free consultation ends with a written treatment plan and the fee attached to it, and nothing is owed if you decide not to start. See cost and financing.
We do not quote prices over the phone, because a number without an examination behind it is not a real number. What we will do is give you the real one, in writing, at no cost.
Brandon families can start from any of the treatments below. The consultation is where Dr. Abdulrazzaq works out which one your bite actually needs, and tells you why.
Braces move teeth with brackets bonded to each tooth and a wire that connects them. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview offers metal braces, clear ceramic braces, and LightForce custom 3D-printed brackets, for children, teens, and adults.
Clear aligners are removable plastic trays, changed every one to two weeks, that move teeth in small planned steps. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview treats with Invisalign and Angel Aligners.
A retainer holds your teeth in their new positions after braces or clear aligners come off. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview provides removable clear retainers, Hawley wire retainers, and permanent bonded retainers.
Early orthodontic treatment means fixing a problem while a child’s jaw is still growing. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends every child have an orthodontic evaluation by about age seven.
Braces for teens are the most common orthodontic treatment there is. The Orthodontic Gallery in Riverview treats teenagers with metal braces, clear ceramic braces, LightForce custom brackets, and clear aligners.
Roughly one in four orthodontic patients in the United States is an adult. Adults at The Orthodontic Gallery are treated with braces, clear aligners, expansion, and coordinated surgical planning where a case calls for it.
No. The practice has one office, at 10061 Beach Verbena Drive in Riverview, and every appointment takes place there. Our contact and directions page shows exactly where to find it.
A fitting visit of under an hour, with the area numbed, then turning you do at home on the schedule Dr. Abdulrazzaq sets, usually for two to four weeks. The expander then stays in place for several months, commonly four to six, while new bone fills the gap, and braces or aligners usually run alongside or afterward, so plan on the visit pattern of any full course of treatment. Expect a few days before your speech settles and about a week before eating feels normal. Follow-ups can use the office’s evening and alternate-Saturday appointment times.
Yes. Dr. Abdulrazzaq works in both languages, so the conversation can move between English and Arabic as your family needs, and the written treatment plan can be explained in either language. If anyone in the family is more comfortable in Spanish, our team speaks Spanish too.
Yes. Your cleft team stays in charge of the overall plan. Dr. Abdulrazzaq, who trained in cleft care at Children’s National Hospital, provides the orthodontic part here in Riverview and keeps in touch with your surgeon and the rest of the team.
